Building Blocks respects the privacy of visitors that come to our website. Therefore, we only collect personal data that is necessary to display the website or to offer certain services.

These services are the contact forms, subscribing for our newsletter and community, requesting our publications or applying to vacancies. In all cases you will explicitly have to consent to the storing of personal data by Building Blocks for its intended purpose. Data is never used for any other purpose.

Of the services listed above, the newsletter, community and publication requests are administered through a third-party, MailChimp. Neither Building Blocks nor Mailchimp will ever sell your e-mail address or share it with any other party unless we are legally compelled to do so.

Which data does Building Blocks collect?

Building Blocks does not collect personal data, unless the personal data is provided by you to us through one of the services provided on our website. In all cases we exclusively collect the following data:

1. Your name
2. Your surname
3. Your e-mail address
4. Your phone number (only if you provide it)
5. Your organization (only if you provide it)
6. Your curriculum vitae (only when applying to vacancies)
7. Anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics)

Building Blocks does not share your information with third parties except when necessary to complete the requested service (i.e. the newsletter) or when we are legally compelled to do so.

Using cookies, we also collect data which in some cases could be considered equal to the processing of personal data. Personal data collected by cookies on our website is merely used for the services and functionality of the website as well as analytics purposes. Storage period of your data

We only store your data as long as necessary to provide you with the requested service.

When you have subscribed to our newsletter or community the data will be kept for the duration of an active subscription. When you unsubscribe (which can be done with the unsubscribe link in any newsletter and community mail), the data will be immediately destroyed.

If you fill in our contact form, we will keep your data to provide you with the requested information and after answering any questions or remarks we will keep the data for a maximum of three months in identifiable form. After this period, we will destroy your data.

When requesting publications, we will keep your data for a period of three months in identifiable form. After this period, we will destroy your data.

Any applications to vacancies (regardless of the medium) will be treated the same regarding the storage of data. All applicant provided data is stored until the end of the application process at which point it will be destroyed.

Keep in mind that after the periods mentioned above the retrieval of data is no longer possible.

Are my personal data secure?

All personal data that is collected through the website of Building Blocks is never stored in the back-end of the Building Blocks website. All services either directly e-mail the concerned persons within Building Blocks or the data is send directly to the service itself (regarding MailChimp for the newsletter).

Third parties

Building Blocks will not sell your personal data to third parties, nor will it give your personal data to third parties, unless we are obligated by law. The only exception to this is the newsletter delivery provider: MailChimp. You can check out the privacy policy of MailChimp for any other questions regarding MailChimp.

Building Blocks also uses Google Analytics, but then configured in a privacy friendly manner, therefore no personal data is processed using Google Analytics, which corresponds with the Google Analytics agreement on the processing of personal data.

Who do I contact with questions regarding my personal data?

If you have any questions or want to invoke your data rights, you can always send an e-mail to privacy@building-blocks.com. In the case of your data subject rights we will first need to verify your identity. To do so please send us a copy of a valid ID and your request. Make sure to remove your photo and social security number from the picture. After verifying your identity, we will process your request.

Who is responsible for the processing of my personal data?

The domain www.building-blocks.com is owned by Building Blocks B.V. Building Blocks is responsible for processing personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
