Dept is made up of the agencies TamTam, Expand Online, a friend of mine, Second Degree, Building Blocks, Studio Dumbar, Be Excellent, Trust Agents, Unskippable and ebrella. The network has 600 employees, a combined turnover of over €60 million, and offices in Germany, UK, US, the Netherlands and Spain.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Entry level – You will have a small amount of commercial experience working on web development projects. You will be committed to learning and self-improvement, both through means provided by Building Blocks and also independently. You will work on small enhancement and add on projects before moving to the Projects Team. You will learn how Building Blocks operates in this role, learning our approach, technologies and methodologies.
Mid-level – You will have a number of years of experience in developing web applications using .Net and preferably CMS experience. You will be committed to continually developing your skills and take an active approach to your learning. You will sit in the Projects Team working on end to end, large scale projects for a variety of client requirements. You will work under the Senior Developer, taking their lead but offering ideas and taking responsibility for your own projects. You will work independently and as part of a wider team.
Experienced - You will have multiple responsibilities including providing leadership to team members and ensuring that projects are delivered in line with best practice. You will be involved with estimates of work, creation and reviewing of technical specifications and creating proof of concepts.
You will be responsible for mentoring developers within the team. You will be responsible for identifying individual training needs and technical guidance for developers. You will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, this will include attending and hosting client meetings and workshops.
You must be passionate about new technologies, personal development and creating innovative solutions in a way that satisfies our clients expectations.
Technical/Specialist Skills and/or Experience
- Expert hands-on knowledge of Microsoft ASP.NET (C#).
- Hands-on knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS.
- Familiarity with and adherence to web standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with an Enterprise level CMS platform such as SDL Web (Tridion), Sitecore, Adobe AEM, e-Spirit, Hippo, Umbraco.
- Experience of working with continuous delivery technologies e.g Teamcity, Octopus Deploy.
