Our preferred method of working is through honest, transparent collaboration with your own team.
Building Blocks follow PRINCE2 methodology to ensure a structured, comprehensive document set, but this doesn't mean we rigidly follow an arbitrary path. So projects will often be broken down into more manageable agile-like deliverables. This makes the benefits of our solution available to you as the project progresses.
Deliverables defined
We start by identifying and highlighting project deliverables with you. That way everyone knows what needs to be done to fulfill the scope.
All this is listed in a project initiation document for all stakeholders to agree on. The key project dependencies for both Building Blocks and your organisation are shown, so each is clear on their respective responsibilities. A detailed, realistic project plan is also drawn up, which we then work to.
Our project managers have in depth technical experience. So they always have a full understanding of what's being delivered, and how to manage risks effectively.
Reporting and measurement
Typically, we will provide structured reporting inline with the project needs. In the majority of cases this is the form of weekly highlight reports and regular phone calls and email to ensure you always fully informed of the status of your project.
Where issues arrise that require urgent attention they will immediately be flagged as such and a resolution discussed with all relevant people at the earliest opportunity.
Risk and issue management
We operate risk management on a straightforward basis to ensure nothing 'slips under the radar'. And Building Blocks' commitment to full transparency means you always remain in the picture.
The project manager can be relied on to keep up to speed with any risks, day by day. These are highlighted in a weekly report, for discussion via conference calls and project board meetings.
Managing change
It's unusual for a project of any complexity not to be subject to change. When the almost inevitable occurs, changes are logged and analysed to assess what effect they will have on the project.
The analysis will then be discussed with you, for you to sign off the change. Any change, no matter how minor, is documented and a clear audit trail made. This also means that there's always up to date documentation of the scope to be delivered at all times.
