Community Solution
Making Telligent use of technology
Background
Chambers has been the world's most trusted directory of the legal profession for over twenty years, with 100 full time researchers interviewing and ranking lawyers and their firms on a global basis.
The company wished to launch a specialist online community for its ranked lawyers. This would help support professional networking amongst members and enable peer conversations throughout the world. Equally, Chambers could gain more insight and leverage through analytics applied to the community.
With all this in mind, Chambers bought Telligent Community and Telligent Analytics, and Building Blocks were selected to make the software and its configuration perform to Chambers' requirements.
Solution
Chambers' IT and business teams worked closely with Building Blocks to plan the installation, and to configure Telligent Community to fit with the company's IT systems.
- Building Blocks' designers applied Chambers' brand style and created the 'on-brand' look of the community
- Single Sign On integration with Chambers' central database, for consistently up to date member information from one source
- Log in process configured to interrogate central database to identify the user lawyer's specialisms - user is then added to appropriate groups, and flagged as an expert in the given field. This distinction allows these users' posts to be marked as 'expert opinion'
- Customisations created 'restricted profiles', so only ranked lawyers can view each other's profiles
- Telligent Analytics configured to allow Chambers to analyse conversations and engagements in the community, and identify trends
- With user Acceptance Testing (UAT) successfully completed, Building Blocks developed and delivered training to Chambers' personnel in running the community day to day
