We start by working with you to establish the project deliverables, to define the scope of the work at the outset.
These are then listed in a project initiation document for all involved parties to agree on. The document details key dependencies for both Building Blocks and your organisation. A detailed, realistic project plan is also drawn up, which we then work to.
Strong and flexible
Building Blocks apply PRINCE2 methodology to project management because it’s a proven means to ensuring a structured, comprehensive document set, but we also build in plenty of flexibility.
Projects will often be broken down into manageable agile-like deliverables. Consequently, the benefits of our solution can be accessed as the project progresses.
All our project managers have technical backgrounds, so they maintain a full understanding of what’s being delivered, and how to manage risks effectively.
Continual reporting and measurement
Typically, we will provide structured reporting inline with the project needs. In the majority of cases this is the form of weekly highlight reports and regular phone calls and email to ensure you always fully informed of the status of your project.
Where issues arrise that require urgent attention they will immediately be flagged as such and a resolution discussed with all relevant people at the earliest opportunity.
Controlling risk at every stage
The Building Blocks risk management system is deliberately simple, so that all potential problems are flagged, and nothing ‘slips under the radar’.
Our project manager is kept in touch with risks on a daily basis, and all such issues are highlighted in a weekly report. These can be discussed with the relevant people through conference call and project board meetings.
And when things change
Your custom solution is almost certain to change its parameters in some way as it moves forward. We’re ready to manage these variances with a process that’s proven to work.
Building Blocks will quickly log changes and analyse them to assess how they will affect the project. You will be quickly alerted to these implications, plus documentation and a clear audit trail will be created for every change, no matter how small.
So at any given time, documentation accurately reflects project scope on an up to date basis.
