Making it work your way
Building Blocks' implementation services can be as varied in form as necessary - we remain totally flexible to fit your specific needs.
Organisations do things their way. So for instance, if your in-house technical team are integrating a legacy database, we can work with that. If your visual design is being handled by an existing creative agency, again, we fit in.
We also align our approach with your internal IT processes. We take on board factors such as your networking, security or deployment arrangements, so the project moves as smoothly as possible for your system users and IT department.
For the sake of continuity and control, the Building Blocks technical lead who's assigned to your project will 'own' the job right down the line, from specification through to deployment and handover.
And throughout the process, you can be sure that each component task will be handled by an experienced specialist. Front end developers create HTML and CSS, while server-side developers concentrate on business logic and data access.
Underpinning all this, documented development processes and procedures are rigorously enforced, to contain any risk involved in the build.
Testing
We prepare system test scripts which follow your solution's specifications. These are written alongside the build of the work packages by a dedicated Building Blocks tester.
As well as formalised system and UAT testing, Building Blocks regularly perform peer testing and code review. This is how we ensure the best techniques are being utilized - it also allows more of our developers to become familiar with your project.
The detailed deployment plan itself is created during the testing phase, so it fully relates to the actualities of the built solution.
We construct this plan as though it's intended for an IT team member who doesn't know the solution. The document can therefore successfully guide deployment even if the person is not fully up to speed with the project or its technology.
Handover and training
Before deployment, all technical documentation is updated so it accurately reflects the end product.
We also create training guides for both solution end users and the technical team - a key factor in successfully turning the solution live.
